A creative renovation on a set budget.
This property was purchased in very poor condition; it had been a rental property for twenty years.
The client had a set budget with little room for any extras.
- The renovation began with the removal of all kitchen cupboards, appliances, carpets and bathroom fixtures
- The kitchen was extended into the living room to make a large open and functional space
- A wrap-around counter was created for dining and entertaining
- An antique vanity and vessel sink was installed in the bathroom
- A good quality laminate flooring was installed incorporating an acoustic buffer made from recycled tires. This type of sound proofing is essential in wood structured buildings.
