The sensitive modernization of a period property.
This property was built in 1934 and featured original hardwood floors, fir wood French doors and fir windows. But the house was yearning for someone to revive it back to its former charm and elegance. Working to a fixed budget, we completely renovated the property, inside and out within eight months. We phased the project to allow the house to be lived in during the works.
- The three bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs were entirely modernized
- The main living area on the second floor required complete sanding and staining of floors, doors and windows
- Some walls had to be replaced due to damage
- The kitchen was completely gutted, redesigned and a very functional open kitchen was created
- The plumbing and electrical wiring was upgraded, which again was done in stages as the renovation work moved forward
- All new windows were installed upstairs
- New exterior paintwork and replacement sidings on the exterior walls where needed
- The old deck was replaced and glass railings added.
